Tulane Takeover Chicago 2019 Schedule

4:00 PM – Student Registration and Check In
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM – Focused Career Conversations I
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM – Focused Career Conversations II

For Participating Alumni, Parents and Recruiting Professionals

The professionals that participate are the lifeblood of this event. The ability to make yourselves available for one or more of the Focused Career Conversations sessions is what makes this event successful.

Focused Career Conversations are open events whereby participating professionals are assigned a table top to meet and network with participating students. Each professional will be identified with a table tent with their name and company affiliation (or industry if they choose). Students can focus their networking efforts by approaching those professionals of whom they have researched and have a desire to meet. These events takes some of the stress out of networking that are inherent in networking receptions and other such events where students are afraid to interrupt conversations.

In addition to the FCC events, there are industry panels and smaller more targeted small group career discussions planned. Professionals are asked to participate in at least one of the planned Focused Career Conversation sessions. If you are able to participate in other sessions such as the industry panels, you will be able to indicate your availability on the Registration Form

For Current Students

Hundreds of students have identified Tulane Takeover events as the beginning of their careers as they were able to meet alumni, parents and other professionals who were instrumental in getting them on a path to career success. Students have received encouragement, advice, mentorship and long-term network building which has led to internship and full-time job opportunities.

Students are expected to arrive prepared and ready to network. This includes researching the participating professionals (via LinkedIn and TulaneConnect) before arriving, wearing professional attire, getting a good nights sleep (it’s gonna be a long day) and having a resume prepared and ready in case it is requested.

Registration for students for Tulane Takeover Chicago is in Handshake. Students will be REQUIRED to register to gain admittance to the building and be allowed entry to the event.
